Capsicum Raitha

Category: Refreshing Raithas
Description: A cool dish combining yogurt and roasted capsicum.
Preparation Time: 15 mins

INGREDIENTS: MAIN:

Green Capsicum – 1 big
Sweet curd – 1½ cups
Grated coconut – 2 tablespoons
Salt – to taste

FOR SEASONING:

Coconut oil – 2 teaspoons
Mustardseeds – ½ teaspoon
Blackgram dal – ½ teaspoon
Red Chilli – 1 small
Curry Leaves – 4-5

PREPARATION METHOD:

1.Wash and cut the capsicum into small pieces.
2.Heat the oil and add mustard seeds,when it starts to crackle, add the blackgram dal and red chilli.
3.When the blackgram dal is golden brown, add the cut capsicum pieces and the curry leaves.
4.Saute on a small flame till the capsicum pieces are tender, remove from the fire and cool.
5.Beat the curds lightly,add the sauteed capsicum pieces with the seasoning grated coconut and salt. Mix thoroughly and serve.

Moms Tip: To add color to the raitha different color capsicum like red,yellow or orange can be used with the green capsicum.
