Peach Halwa

Description: A sweet dish made with fresh peach puree
Preparation Time: 30 mins

Ripe firm peaches(Big) – 4 (core them and cut into small pieces)
Sugar – 10 tablespoons(tbsp)
Cornstarch – 3 tablespoons(mix in 2tbsp of milk and keep aside)
Ghee(Clarified Butter) – 5 tbsp
Cardamom powder – ½ teaspoon
Slivered Nuts– 3 tbsp (any combination of nuts)

1.In a heavy bottomed vessel, combine the peach pieces with 2 cups of water and cook till they are tender.
2.Once all the water has evaporated cool and mash the mixture and transfer to another container
3.In the same heavy bottomed vessel add the sugar and 1/2 cup of water and allow the syrup to come to a one string consistency.
4.Add the mashed peach mixture, corn flour mixture, cardamom powder and stir continuously making sure to add the Ghee little at a time.
5. When the mixture comes to a consistency where it can be rolled like a ball and does not stick to the vessel, remove from the fire and transfer to a greased plate.
6.Flatten the Halwa nicely and sprinkle the slivered nut mixture. Allow it to cool completely and then cut into desired shape pieces. Store it in the refrigerator.
