Description: Fried vegetable balls in a mild gravy.
Preparation Time: 25 mins
MAIN INGREDIENTS:
FOR KOFTA:
Potatoes – 3 medium (boiled and mashed while hot)
Onion – 1 small (finely cut)
Green chilli – 1 (finely cut)
Garam masala powder – ½ teaspoon
Bread slices – 2 ( soak in water,squeeze out water,then crumbled)
Few mint and coriander leaves finely cut
Salt – to taste
Cooking oil – for frying
Combine all the ingredients for kofta except oil mixing gently and
make big marble size balls. Roll in bread crumbs and fry in hot oil
and keep aside.
FOR GRAVY:
Cauliflower – 1 medium(broken into small florets)
Capsicum– 1 big (thinly cut)
Onion – 1 big(thinly sliced)
Tomato – 1 big (chopped)
Green chillis – 1(finely cut)
Ginger – 1″ piece (finely cut)
Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
Red chilli powder – ½ teaspoon
Cumin(jeera) powder – ½ teaspoon
Mango(amchur) powder – 1 teaspoon
Garam masala powder – ½ teaspoon
Turmeric powder – a pinch
Milk – 3 tablespoon
Salt to taste
Oil,ghee mixture – 3 tablespoons
Coriander leaves – for garnishing
METHOD:
1.Cook the cauliflower florets in just enough water with little salt till half done. Remove and keep aside.
2.Heat oil,ghee mixture in a pan, and add 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds, when it crackles add green chilli and ginger and then the onion and capsicum.
3.saute on a slow flame till they are tender then add the chopped tomatoes and saute for some more time.
4.Add coriander,red chilli, cumin,garam masala,turmeric and amchur powders and salt mixing thorougly.
5.Add the milk, cauliflower florets and the koftas, mix gently cover and cook for a few minutes.
6.Remove from fire and garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
