Description: This is a very aromatic rasam made made with fresh coriander leaves.
Preparation Time: 25 mins
Cooked Redgram dhal – ¼ cup
Turmeric powder – ¾ teaspoon
Mustard seeds – ½ teaspoon
Asafoetida powder – a pinch
Ghee – 2 tablespoons
Salt – to taste
Fresh Coriander leaves – 2 small bundles(chopped finely)
Tamarind – 1 big marble size
Fresh grated coconut – 3 tablespoons
Green chillis – 2
Jaggery powder – ¾ teaspoon Grind all of the above to a smooth paste.
1.Mash the cooked redgram dhal nicely adding 3 cups of water. To that add salt,turmeric powder,asafoetida powder and the ground paste.
2.Allow the mixture to simmer on a slow flame and when starts to boil over remove from the fire.
3.Heat the ghee in a small pan and add the mustard seeds, when they crackle pour it over the hot rasam.
