Description: This is a tasty powder which goes well with rice.
Preparation Time: 20 mins
White or Brown Til – 1 cup
Black gram dhal – 1/2 cup
Red Chillis – 15
Asafoetida(broken into pieces)– 1 big piece
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Gingelly oil – 1 tablespoons
Salt to taste.
Roast the Til seeds in a frying pan to a rich brown color and spread on a sheet of paper to cool.
Heat 1 tblsp of oil in the pan and fry the asafoetida piece to a rich brown color.
Add the mustard seeds,blackgram dhal and the red chillis and fry till the dhal becomes a rich brown color.
Cool the above mixture on a paper.
Add salt and powder this mixture coarsely.
This can be stored in an air tight container for about 6 months and upto a year in the freezer.
